About this recipe
As we know, turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory agent, and this smoothie is a perfect way to consume it. It pairs well with oranges, which are full of vitamin C and cleansing properties. Ginger gives it just enough heat and balances the sweetness of the fruit, and mango adds the needed smoothness. To learn more about amazing benefits of turmeric click here.
Ingredients:
8 ounces cold, organic coconut water
3 oranges, peeled and sliced
2 mangoes, peeled and cubed
1 tsp. turmeric powder (I use Organic Turmeric Root Powder (2lb) by Anthony's)
Pinch of black pepper
1 inch piece of ginger, peeled and minced finely
Instructions:
1. Prepare the ingredients.
2. Add all the ingredients to a blender. Starting the blender on a low speed, blend until smooth. If needed, gradually increase to higher speeds and blend until smooth.
3. Chill and serve.
Notes:
Since this smoothie contains a lot of fruit, be sure to drink it on an empty stomach.
Equipment needed:
Blender (I use KitchenAid KSB1575MY 5-Speed Diamond Blender with 60-Ounce BPA-Free Pitcher - Majestic Yellow )
Serving suggestion:
Best served on its own.
